Awkwafina

Awkwafina, an American performer and actress, started with humorous rap tracks that dealt with issues of sexuality and race. Her career expanded to Hollywood following the release of several rap songs. Born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants within Forest Hills Queens her first encounter with the world of music was in the form of the trumpet. Then, she started traditional and hip-hop training. In her studies, she studied journalism as well as women's studies, and was taking classes in Mandarin in Beijing for a time. It wasn't until she graduated that she start focusing on music. After gaining viral fame on the Internet, her My Vag song My Vag was a reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually appeared on the debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also featured viral hit tracks, such as body positive Queef and winking tour of her home NYC Bitche$. The final track was linked directly to Awkwafina's NYC travel guide, released in the year 2015. After a successful career as a performer and songwriter, she chose to assume the character of actress. Her film credits include films including Neighbors 2 Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018 she was able to land major roles in a variety of high-profile movies like Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June she dropped her new EP "In Fina We Trust".
